Android/iOS Programmer

Blue Beck are looking for skilled programmers to join our agile team developing applications for Android and iOS.

Blue Beck is an innovative, pioneering full-service software development company located in the centre of Macclesfield, Cheshire, with a long history of producing quality work for big name clients.

While the skills to develop native apps for Android or iOS is an advantage, this is a career opportunity for those who can prove their existing ability with other languages and platforms to train in the latest Android and iOS technologies.

About the role

You will join the existing developers on our team along with designers and QA engineers working on applications for a large cellular operator. There will be opportunities to contribute to the development of new functionality in applications used by millions.

About you

Required

  • Strong programming skills in an Object Oriented high-level language such as Kotlin, Swift, Java, Objective C, C# or C++.
  • Mobile or desktop user interface software development experience using either declarative UI similar to SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose or Flutter, or an imperative GUI toolkit such as UIKit, the android.widget package, Windows Forms or Swing.
  • An understanding of the concept of client/server interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Able to travel to Macclesfield at least twice a month to meet with the team over the long term, at least once per week for the first several weeks.
